The reason for renewal is not merely a formality: equipment and methods evolve, knowledge can be forgotten over time, and it must be confirmed that the worker&#8217;s physical\/mental suitability continues.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, even if the certificate has not expired, it is recommended that the training be repeated in cases such as a change in the worker&#8217;s duties, a change in the equipment used, or a long absence from work. Working at height with an expired certificate is not legal and creates a risk of administrative sanction for the employer.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>What Does &#8220;Competent Person&#8221; Supervision Mean?<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legislation requires that work carried out at height be conducted under the supervision and control of a competent (qualified and experienced) person appointed by the employer.
